Job Title: Tax Accountant
Level: 5.II
Reports To: Director of Administration and Finance

Job Description
• Checking of invoices received by ILPD to comply with tax laws
• Accounting for all taxes applied to inputs that ILPD uses
• Accounting for all income received from sales
• Compare the inputs to outputs to estimate and track tax returns/Refunds to be claimed from RRA
• Produce monthly, quarterly and annual tax reports
• Liaise with ILPD clients to handle any tax issues
• Collaborate with RRA to update the ILPD tax database or tax account for both taxes and other statutory deductions
• Recommend strategies to ensure Tax compliance
• Prepare necessary paperwork for tax payments and returns
• Ensure the proper use of EBM
• Declaration of taxes (VAT and CIT)
• Collaborate with other staff in the unit in handling matters related to declaration and other taxes declared by them i.e WHT (15%), WHT (3%) WHT (3%), PAYE and RSSB contributions
• Advise the Institute on tax matters
• Share financial data with the accounting department to harmonize and regularize the ILPD tax account.
• Identify tax savings and suggest ways to increase profits
• Follow up business trends and track changes related to tax Laws and regulations
• Liaise with internal and external auditors, especially tax auditors
• Ensure proper filling of tax and declaration documents
• Liaise with RRA for better collaboration in handling any tax and tax declaration matters
• Ensure that the deadlines for declarations and response to RRA tax assessment are responded to on time.
• Follow up the requests for tax refunds claimed by the institute
• Estimate annual tax Revenues to be put in annual revenue projections
