Simba International School is a co-educational school with over 43 years of educating children from the foundation stage of Early
Years through Primary up to Sixth Form, with both day and boarding students. Our student population is over 450 students.
We are among the first group of the international schools to be established in Zambia with a strong reputation and record for consistently high academic performance with an entrenched International General Certificate of Secondary Education (IGCSE) and Advanced level.
We are seeking the services of highly experienced and competent teacher of Economics and Accounting to teach from Form 1 to 6.
Job Purpose
- To implement and deliver an appropriately broad, balanced, relevant and differentiated curriculum for students in
both Economics and Accounting.
- To monitor and support the overall progress and development of students as a teacher and form tutor.
Main Duties and Responsibilities
- To facilitate and encourage a learning experience which provides students with the opportunity to achieve their individual potential.
- To contribute to raising standards of achievement and maximising student attainment.
- To share and support the school’s responsibility to provide and monitor opportunities for personal and academic Growth, while being committed to the safeguarding of children.
- To plan and prepare courses, schemes of work and individual lessons, appropriate to the needs, interests, experience and existing knowledge of students
- To assist in the development of appropriate syllabuses, resources, schemes of work, marking policies and teaching strategies in the Department.
- To assist in the process of curriculum development and change so as to ensure the continued relevance to the needs of students, examining and awarding bodies and the school’s strategic commitment, purpose and intent.
- To take part in the school’s CPD programme by participating in arrangements for further training and
professional development.
- To maintain appropriate records and provide relevant accurate and up-to-date information for the school’s
management information system and assist in the tracking of students.
- To ensure high-quality teaching, learning and assessment experiences for students matching with internal and external quality standards.
Attributes
- Understanding of Cambridge curriculum IGCSE, AS and A level Economics and Accounting, Literature and French
- Extensive experience of teaching Cambridge First Language and Second language syllabi and French curriculum.
- Demonstrate excellent subjects and/or specialist knowledge with a desire for educational excellence.
- Be willing to be part of a successful team at a school with a well-established academic record.
- Be able to set and attain consistently high expectations with leaners.
Qualifications:
- B.Ed. (QTS), / Degree in Economics / Business Studies / Accounting, Bachelor of Arts with Education or equivalent and TCZ
registered.
- Minimum of 3 years teaching experience of the Cambridge curriculum
