JOB DETAILS:
Renwasol is a distributed energy service company in Zambia that provides electricity to households, SME’s, community services and smallholder farmers in Central province using solar home systems, solar mini-grids, solar pumps, and productive use systems. The company ís seeking to recruit for the positions below for its startup operations. The positions will be based at its Kabwe office.
Technical Manager x 1
Job Objective
To coordinate technical and operational issues regarding installations of Solar Photovoltaic systems, production of clients’ kits, maintenance of solar home systems and logistical support.

Responsibilities
• To prepare daily installation plans
• To prepare and coordinate scheduled maintenance activities,
• To coordinate with the management of the Energy Stores in regard to supervision of activities done by energy store technicians
• To ensure that SHS are properly sized and designed before installation takes place
• To arrange training programs for technical staff
• To ensure that the technical has the right tools and safety wear at all times
• To manage stock control. To arrange for monthly stock verification, stock requisitions, storage and issuance of stock from the company warehouse/stores as per laid down processes and procedures
• To monitor and ensure that company vehicles are in good and safe working conditions
• To ensure that technical operations are conducted in line with the laid down Safety, Health and Environmental policies.
• To arrange for repossession of company assets from clients as advised by the management
• To give job instructions to each team leader, electricians and technicians in the department
• To cordinate day to day installations of SHS and production of SH kit
• To capture and analyse trend of client complaints, and advise means of scaling down of such complaints
• To prepare stock orders in time to avoid stock-outs or shortages
• To keep accurate record of stocks balances at the stores
• To evaluate the performance of his team on a regular basis
• Implementing repossession and disconnection processes
• To liase with the contracted car repair garage for maintenance of the company motor vehicle and cycle fleet
• To review all production forms for purposes of ascertaining the accuracy or correctness of the right sizing of the SHS
• To liase with the contractors in the production and painting of antitheft frames, and battery boxes.

Qualifications
• A Bachelors degree in Electrical Engineering or Higher Diploma in the related field. Specialised training in Solar Electricity is an added advantage.
• Knowledge of generally accepted electrical installation practices and principles
• Knowledge of Ms Office applications, especially Excel, Word and power point presentation.
• Knowledge of applicable laws, codes and regulations
• Specialised skills in solar photovoltaic system installations, sizing and maintenance
