JOB DETAILS:

PURPOSE
• To supervise laboratory based and off-site tasks, which include sampling, testing, measuring, recording and analyzing results in biological, chemical, physical and life sciences. Off-site tasks include non-laboratory based tasks that may be assigned by the supervisor.
• To provide all the required technical support to the Assistant Technician, Technologist, Heads of Department and the Registrar’s office to enable the laboratory or off-site enterprise to function effectively whilst adhering to correct procedures and, health and safety guidelines.
• To lead in providing innovative solutions to the development of agriculture, fisheries and aquaculture at Kapasa Makasa University.

1. Qualifications and Experience for Agroforestry Technician – 01 Position
• Form 5 or Grade 12 certificate with 5 credits or better which should include English Language.
• Must possess a minimum of Diploma in Agroforestry or related field from a recognized institution.
• Possession of a Bachelor’s Degree in an agricultural related field will be an added advantage.
• At least 3 years relevant working experience.
• Ability to work with minimum supervision.
• Computer literate

2. Qualifications and Experience for Fisheries and Aquaculture Technician – 01 Position
• Form 5 or Grade 12 certificate with 5 credits or better which should include English Language.
• Must possess a minimum of Diploma in Fisheries and Aquaculture or related field from a recognized institution.
• Possession of a Bachelor’s Degree in fisheries and/or aquaculture will be an added advantage.
• At least 3 years relevant working experience.
• Ability to work with minimum supervision.
• Computer literate
