Chongwe Municipal Council has received funding through the Ministry of Local Government and Rural Development and intends to apply the same towards the construction of a Modern Market Shelter at Chongwe main Market.

The Council now invites sealed bids from eligible bidders registered with the National Council for Construction (NCC) Category B or C in grade 5, to participate in the tender for the construction of a Modern Market Shelter at Chongwe main Market.

Bidding will be conducted through Open National Bidding (ONB) procedures specified in the Public Procurement Act No. 8 of 2020 Section 39(2)(3) open to Citizen bidders only.
Interested eligible bidders may obtain further information and inspect the bidding documents during working days from the Procurement Unit at the Civic Centre P.O Box 1, Chongwe and obtain a solicitation document upon payment of a non-refundable fee of Five Hundred Kwacha (K 500.00) cash or by using CDC-Development Fund ACC 0060408711004 Atlas Mara, Chongwe branch. Submission Procedure
Bids shall be submitted in sealed envelopes, properly bound and clearly marked: "TENDER FOR THE CONSTRUCTION OF A MARKET SHELTER AT CHONGWE MAIN MARKET" and shall be deposited in the Tender Box located at the Procurement Office not later than Thursday 9th June, 2023 at 10:30 hours local time and any bids received after the time and date stipulated above will not be accepted. The bids will be opened soon after closing at Chongwe Municipal Council Chamber in the presence of Bidders or their representatives who choose to attend. Bids must be accompanied by a bid security of 2% of the bid sum from a reputable commercial bank or insurance company duly signed by Guarantor: HOWEVER, TELEFAX OR TELEGRAPHIC BIDS WILL NOT BE ACCEPTED. LATE BIDS SHALL NOT BE ACCEPTED.
A Mandatory Pre-bid meeting and site visit shall be on 16th and 17th May, 2023 at 10:00hours at the bidders own cost. CHONGWE MUNICIPAL COUNCIL
