1.0 BACKGROUND

• Zambia Civic Education Association (ZCEA) is a non-governmental organization that promotes and protects children’s rights through advocacy and civic education.
• Established in 1993, ZCEA works to promote and protect children’s rights in line with the basic principles and standards contained in the international and regional human rights instruments.
• ZCEA’s vision is a society where all people enjoy fundamental human rights, justice, and human dignity.
• The mission of ZCEA is promoting and protecting children’s rights through advocacy and civic education for children’s well-being.

2.0 PURPOSE

ZCEA, through its partner Kindernothilfe, would like to procure a Solar Powered system to power its offices.

The overall objective of this assignment is to provide the following services:

• (i) Supply of solar system equipment
• (ii) Installation of the same

3.0 SCOPE OF WORK

• Reporting to the Executive Director and working under the guidance of the Finance and Administration Manager, the supplier will be expected to supply and install a solar-powered system with the following specifications:

Supply 8 mono Crystalline 550W solar panels

4 Deep cycle battery Lithium 5KWh/48Volts

5Kva/48Volts Inverter (hybrid)

All the accessories required to install and set up the solar system, including some of the following:

A. Lightning Arrester (LA)

B. Smart ACDB/DCDB Junction Boxes

C. Aqua Pi

D. Walkway (Walkway installed at a rooftop solar installation)

E. Hot Dip Galvanized Solar Structure

F. Perforated Cable Trays

G. Wires, Cables, and Solar Connectors

H. Charge Controller: Manage Energy Flow

I. The charge controller-MPPT and PWM

4.0 REQUIREMENTS

• Must be registered with PACRA.
• Must have a valid Tax clearance certificate.
• Must have a valid certificate from the Energy Regulations Board (ERB).

Skills and Competencies

• Excellent communication.
• Ability to work efficiently and adhere to the time modalities of the customer.

5.0 CONDITIONS

• Payment shall be as per the agreement between ZCEA and the supplier.
• ZCEA reserves the right to modify these terms of reference at any time.

7.0 TIME FRAME

• The Supplier is expected to deliver and install the solar system within 5 working days after being contracted.
