JOB DETAILS:
Job Brief
We are looking for a Veterinary Officer, who will provide medical care to animals by diagnosing and treating animals with injuries or diseases to bring them back to health in all our farms.
Responsibilities,
• Conduct postmortem studies and analyses to determine the causes of animals ‘death
• Establish and conduct quarantine and testing procedures that prevent the spread of diseases
• To examine animals to detect and determine the nature of diseases.
• Inoculate animals against various diseases such as distemper
• Administer vaccines to prevent common diseases in animals
• Perform surgery on animals, including spaying and neutering
• Prescribe medication to treat health issues in animal
• Provide emergency care to sick or injured animals
• Advising on good veterinary practice.
• Undertaking postmortem examinations and other diagnostics.
• Document and maintain records, including diagnosis, treatment, and other relevant information.
Requirements and skills
Education and Work Experience
• Bachelor’s degree in veterinary medicine
• Proven experience in dairy farm management.
• Strong leadership and communication skills.
• Knowledge of dairy nutrition, genetics, and reproductive management.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
