Undikumbukire Project Zambia (UP Zambia) is a specialist provider of legal and social services to juveniles in conflict with the law, providing legal assistance to hundreds of juveniles each year in facilities across 4 provinces on a regular basis.

UP Zambia is currently implementing 3 Projects in Lusaka, Central, Copperbelt and Southern Provinces being funded by GIZ, UNICEF and the European Union. As part of our communications, visibility and fundraising strategy, the organization seeks to engage the services of a highly skilled and qualified, Videographer/Photographer to produce one high quality short documentary and photographs on consultancy basis.

All rights to the produced materials including videos and photographs will be solely owned by Undikumbukire Project Zambia and can be shared online, with Donors, Government, CSOs, educational institutions and other relevant stakeholders as may be determined the organisation.
Reporting to: The Consultant will report to the Project Manager-UP Zambia.

Duties and Responsibilities
Scope of work:
The main objective of this assignment is to develop a video documentary that will render a programmatic overview as well as support in raising awareness of UP Zambia’s work in Zambia. The videographer will be responsible for filming interviews, recording stories, taking photos and personal experiences related to our work with children in conflict with the law in Zambia. S/he will work together with UP Zambia and partners as stated above. S/he will be responsible for the lighting, downloading footage as well as the audit of captured images by the video in high quality audio and video format.
While producing the video and audio, the consultant will adopt a story-telling approach putting the spotlight on personal experiences of participants related to UP Zambia’s legal and social support work.
Tasks:
Based on the above-described objective of the assignment, and under the direct supervision of the Project manager, UP Zambia, and in close consultations with the Communications officer and the team leaders, the Local Consultant Videographer will undertake the following tasks and responsibilities:
• Identify beneficiaries and stakeholders to be interviewed in close consultation with the Family counseling team and Communications Officer;
• Link with all teams on the projects for more information, results, background etc. and select the most interesting/impactful stories for the interviews;
• Develop a work schedule for the interviews and contact the beneficiaries, traditional and community leaders, Government representatives and family members and undertake interviews;
• Set up video equipment for in-house and external location shoots;
• Set up lighting as required/if any, to provide a professional set for video production;
• Operate video cameras, video/audio equipment to produce high quality products;
• Perform video post-processing to, edit, and generate video and audio effects to produce professional products;
• Liaise with Project manager, Executive Director and Communications officer and team Leaders for review and finalization of videos;
• The consultant will provide the We transfer or drop box folder with the video, photos and audio files;
• Prepare an individual report on the assignment.

Desired Skills and Experience:
• A recognizable qualification in Film Production, Communication, Journalism, Media Studies or similar field.
• Minimum 5 years’ experience in Videography and photography in development organization at national or international level with a record (Proof of such works will be required at interview stage) of providing high quality, creative, videos; photos preferably in the field of OVCs, Justice sector or other development related works;
• Extensive film, communication and media experience with demonstrable skills;
• Experience in editing and producing videos with international organizations, Government or CSOs.
• Experience working with coordinating and liaising with government agencies, UN Agencies, Government or CSOs will be an advantage.
