Job Summary:
We are looking for a skilled WordPress developer to design and implement visually appealing and functional websites and web apps for our clients. This role will include both back-end and front-end development, installation of WordPress themes and plugins, as well as site integration, migration and security upgrades.
We require a WordPress developer with extensive understanding of front-end programming languages (HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript) and frontend frameworks (Bootstrap, jQuery, etc) as well as a keen sense of aesthetics, and excellent content management abilities. You should be able to build appealing, user-friendly websites and web apps that precisely fulfill the client’s design and functionality requirements. You must also have a good grounding of WooCommerce ecosystem, PHP, WordPress plugin development, WordPress Core and the WordPress API.

Responsibilities and Duties:
You will be required to among other things, do the following:
• Meeting with clients to discuss website design and functionality.
• Communicating with teammates, project managers and clients on project progress
• Coming up with time estimates to complete projects.
• Designing and building the website front-end.
• Creating the website architecture.
• Designing, configuring and managing the website back-end including database and server integration.
• Building custom WordPress themes and plugins.
• Conducting website performance tests.
• Troubleshooting content issues.
• Conducting WordPress training for clients.
• Monitoring the performance of live websites.
• Manage individual project plans, priorities, deadlines and deliverables.
• Meet outlined targets.

Qualifications and Skills:
• Minimum advanced diploma in any computer science related field, Grade 12 certificate.
• Additional relevant qualifications are an added advantage.
• Minimum 3 years work experience as a web developer or similar role in the software development field.
• Proven experience in website design, development and deployment.

Specific Requirements:
• Advanced diploma (or higher) in any computer science related field.
• Proven work experience as a WordPress developer (Preferred).
• Knowledge of front-end web technologies including CSS3, JavaScript, HTML5, and jQuery.
• Knowledge of WordPress back-end web technologies PHP, WooCommerce, WordPress Core, WordPress API.
• Knowledge of domain management and configuration, web hosting, CDNs & SSL configuration.
• Knowledge of code versioning tools including Git or Bitbucket.
• Experience working with debugging tools such as Chrome Inspector and Firebug.
• Good understanding of website architecture and aesthetics.
• Ability to manage projects, with experience working with project management tools.
• Good communication skills both oral and written.
• Ability to provide project task time estimates
• Ability to work under pressure
• Keen eye for detail in all aspects of work
• Resourcefulness and troubleshooting aptitude
• Good problem solving skills
• Excellent command of written and spoken English
• Good presentation skills
• Punctual and time conscious
• Self starter
Other Mandatory Requirements:
