JOB DETAILS:
Consultants hired may support tools and materials development, assessments and/or implementing advisory packages. Some consultants may complete field visits, depending on location, and travel may be required for training delivery, depending on travel restrictions and safety protocols.
We are hiring a consultant based in Zambia.
Scope of Work
The Zambia LMA Project Coordinator SOW will include the following tasks:
• Design LMA process and coordinate approval with contracted partner
• Design research tools required for the LMA
• Manage submission of any necessary research approvals in Zambia
• Train, support and manage research assistants on completion of research
• Support organization of focus groups and interviews in country in coordination with the partner and project leads
• Complete focus groups and interviews in the field
• Complete secondary research and document reviews
• Analyze data and secondary research
• Draft report and recommendations; work with project leads to finalize report
• Draft presentation on report and recommendations; work with project leads to finalize presentation
• Participate in presentations to clients on report and recommendations
• Participate in weekly check ins
• Coordinator field costs (accommodation, food, transport) will be covered by the project.
• Consultants engaged in response to this solicitation shall be bound by BRAC’s general standards of conduct.
Qualifications
• Extensive professional (with at least 7 years) experience in international development, particularly in youth livelihoods and economic empowerment for adolescents and youth .
• In-depth experience, skills, and expertise in youth empowerment, gender mainstreaming in livelihood projects in Africa, particularly southern and/or east Africa.
• Excellent writing and communication skills in English
• Ability to work in Zambia
• Ability to provide technical inputs in a wide range of technical work products including training curriculum and modules, guides, pilot test assessment tools, and design documents.
• Knowledge of research approval processes in Zambia
• Experience with participatory research methods, facilitating surveys
• Knowledge of the key youth employment challenges in Zambia
• Knowledge of the key challenges facing AGYW in Zambia
• Creative problem solver; able to easily adapt to change in a fast-paced environment;
• Diplomatic, with strong interpersonal skills, and a high degree of cultural sensitivity.
• Ability to travel to conduct site assessments.
• Access to reliable Internet connection and hardware needed to complete SOW tasks

BRAC anticipates that contracts resulting from this solicitation shall be Labor Hour (LH) or Time and Material (T&M) type awards. BRAC reserves the right to make multiple awards or no awards in response to this solicitation.
