Introduction
The Zambia Information and Communications Authority (ZICTA) is looking to employ nine (9) Assistant Inspectors to be situated at the Lusaka, Livingstone,Nakonde ,Kazungula and Chirundu border posts responsible to assist with the monitoring of imports of electronic communication equipment at designated ports of entry into Zambia.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
• Conduct physical inspection of devices to ascertain compliance to type approval regulations;
• Flag non-compliant import transactions in Asycuda World;
• Issuance of equipment seizure and release forms;
• Documentation and storage of non-compliant equipment;
• Updating the database of inflow of ICT equipment into the Country;
• Provide customer support on the submission of type approval applications; and
• Sensitize importers, dealers and consignees of electronic communication equipment about type approval regulations.

Requirements
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
• Full Grade 12 certificate
• Minimum qualification being a Diploma in Telecommunications or Electronics engineering;
• At least three (3) years of post-qualification work experience.
• Must be a member of a relevant professional body.

COMPETENCIES
• Conversant with the various types of electronic communications systems and associated devices;
• Conversant with the incoterms used in international trade;
• Knowledge of emerging communication technologies;
• Conversant with type approval regulations and requirements;
• Competence in Microsoft office packages – Excel, Word and Power Point;
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills;
• Ability to work with minimum supervision; and
• Honesty and integrity.
