JOB DETAILS:
Mabiza Resources Limited (“Mabiza”) operates the Munali Nickel Mine (“Munali”), which is located in the Mazabuka District, 80kms south of Lusaka, Zambia. Mabiza is a wholly owned entity of Consolidated Nickel Mines Ltd.
The Mine is a modern, world class facility with fully mechanized underground operations. To support this vision. Mabiza is seeking the services of experienced and qualified individuals to take up the position of:
Role: Chief Geologists
Reporting: Technical Services Manager
Job Purpose: To facilitate orderly production activities through the provision of grade control geology data and accurate adherence to grade control protocols. .

Main Responsibilities:
• Ensuring the compilation and managing of all grade control plans
• Controlling and overseeing the production activities related to geology works.
• Ensuring all control sampling is undertaken and analysis of results are available.
• Responsible for applicable contract management of any underground infill drilling programmes.
• Provision of the geology grade control statistics data
• Plan geology projects and field sampling events.
• Examine the composition of samples and specimens.
• Conduct quality control on the suitability of material and inspect projects.
• Investigate and evaluate natural resource deposits.
• Ensuring all works is correctly undertaken to avoid reworks which attract additional costs.
• Ensuring that all grade control activities are undertaken within specified budget.

Skills & Qualifications:
• Grade 12 School Certificate.
• Degree in Geology.
• Minimum of 7years experience in a variety of Geological and Mining Operations.
• Underground Mine grade control geology work is essential.
• Reserve and resource modelling and use of software tool is a must.
• Knowledge of underground mine exploration and grade control is key.
• Carrying out post incident analysis.
• Knowledge of good safety practices.
• Developing emergency procedures.
• Ability to maintain effective work relationships with people from all social backgrounds.
• Knowledge of first aid methods and techniques.
• Ability to work on own initiative.
• Physically fit and able to walk around for long periods of time.
