JOB DETAILS:
Summary
The Coordinator, Project will be responsible for planning, implementing, and providing technical support for the provision of quality delivery of Clean and Safe Drinking Water Promotion Project at district, community, and household levels. He/She will also support Clean and Safe Drinking Water Promotion Project interventions including the construction of the BioSand Filtration points in the targeted communities. Other tasks include development of work plans, community mobilization and volunteer engagement, coordination of trainings, engagement of stakeholders, coordination of project monitoring and evaluation, project knowledge management, preparation of donor reports, complying to donor guidelines in project execution. The candidate should demonstrate ability to work with divergent community groups from grassroots organizations.

DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES
• Remain alert and responsive to any child safeguarding risks, acquire relevant knowledge and skills which will enable you to promote strong safeguarding practices, understand the child safeguarding policy and procedures, and conduct yourself in a manner consistent with the Child Safeguarding Policy
• Supporting the contractors and community groups in the construction and rehabilitation of water points, and other sanitation activities in the communities
• Supporting capacity building of community volunteers and local stakeholders
• Supporting interventions targeting hygiene promotion and education
• Ensure appropriate design, construction, and implementation of WASH hardware according to technical standards, as well as proper maintenance and use of WASH equipment
• Develop and ensure the use of appropriate techniques and materials for hygiene promotion and training
• Manage the program budget through the passing of timely orders, the preparation of monthly forecasts and the monitoring of expenditure
• Track the progress of activities, ensure the collecting of program indicators, and provide internal status reports and external donor reports
• Support the community mobilization team in the sensitization of community members and households for improved awareness and service utilization of project services
• Support the design of the community mobilization activity plan based on trends seen within the facilities and communities
• Support the development of key WASH messaging ensuring accuracy and cultural sensitivity
• Work with and provide timely technical support to the ChildFund implementing partners; maintain respectful and constructive relations with partners, services providers, and communities
• Strengthen local coordination meetings and attend community and district coordination meetings on requested by supervisor to advocate for WASH services in the district

MINIMUM EDUCATION QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE AND COMPETENCIES
• Bachelor’s Degree in Social Sciences and or Community related disciplines (Environmental or Public health, Community development, Development Studies, Social Work etc.) or equivalent relevant experience in lieu of degree
• At least three (3) years’ experience of Programme/Project coordination and or community outreach programmes
• Understanding of community health programming targeting households and different stakeholders and general community support groups
• Excellent interpersonal and writing skills
• Experience of developing and testing methodologies for planning, monitoring, and learning in youth and community and/or gender transformation
