Southem Cross Motors Limited is seeking to hire an experienced and motivated individual for the position of Diagnostic Technician

Job Summary
The Diagnostic Technician is responsible for conducting tests, identifying issues, and performing diagnostics on vehicles, equipment, or machinery to ensure they are operating effectively. This role requires strong technical knowledge and the ability to utilize diagnostic tools and equipment to resolve mechanical, electrical, and system malfunctions.

Main Responsibilities:
• Perform comprehensive diagnostic procedures to determine the root cause of mechanical, electrical, and electronic malfunctions.
• Utilize diagnostic tools, equipment, and software to assess vehicle or machinery performance and identify faults.
• Test systems such as engine, transmission, electrical, brakes, and HVAC to troubleshoot problems.
• Technical adviser to management and the Diagnostic Team
• Accurately interpret diagnostic codes and use them to guide repair processes.
• Create detailed reports on diagnostic findings and communicate with service teams regarding necessary repairs.
• Keep up to date with the latest diagnostic techniques and tools.
• Work closely with service advisors and other technicians to ensure efficient repair processes.
• Adhere to safety standards and protocols during diagnostics and repairs.
• Ensure all diagnostic tools are maintained and calibrated for accurate results.
• Record diagnostic data and maintain records in the company’s systems.
• Final assessment of vehicle after job is completed
• Allocation of jobs to the diagnostic team

Qualifications:
• Diploma in Automobile Engineering or a related field.
Proven experience as a diagnostic technician or in a similar role.
• Strong technical skills with knowledge of diagnostic, electrical, and electronic systems.
• Proficiency with diagnostic equipment and software (e.g., OBD-II scanners).
• Strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Excellent communication skills to liaise with other departments and clients.
• Ability to follow safety guidelines and procedures.

• Ability to handle multiple tasks and priorities.
