JOB DETAILS:
Zalawi Haulage Limited is seeking a dedicated and experienced Human Resources Business Partner (HRBP) to join our dynamic team in Chingola. The ideal candidate will act as a strategic partner to management, driving HR initiatives that align with the organization’s goals while ensuring effective employee engagement and development.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Strategic HR Partnership
– Serve as a trusted advisor to management, providing insights and support on HR strategies, policies, and procedures.
– Collaborate with leadership to design and implement HR initiatives that align with the company’s objectives.
2. Performance & Employee Relations
– Guide managers on performance management processes, employee relations, and career development.
– Conduct thorough investigations and provide guidance on complex employee relations matters.
3. Payroll Management
– Oversee payroll processes to ensure accuracy, timeliness, and compliance with company policies.
4. Employee Support
– Advise employees on HR policies, benefits, and performance-related concerns.
– Act as the first point of contact for employee grievances, working closely with line managers to resolve issues effectively.
5. Change Management
– Develop and execute change enablement plans, including effective communication with employees, managers, and trade union representatives during transitions.
6. HR Administration
– Maintain an up-to-date weekly tracker of outstanding issues across departments and follow through to ensure timely resolution.
– Manage and maintain a grievance case tracker for the department, ensuring adherence to disciplinary, grievance, and capability processes.
7. Recruitment and Development
– Participate in promotion assessments and recruitment interviews.
– Support the performance review process by providing training and coaching to employees and line managers in collaboration with the training department.
Required Skills & Competencies:
1 .Comprehensive understanding of HR laws, regulations, and best practices.
2 .Proven ability to manage and advise on disciplinary and grievance procedures.
3 .Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with stakeholders.
4. Proficiency in problem-solving and project management, with a results-driven mindset.
5. Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team setting.
Qualifications:
1. Grade 12 Certificate (or equivalent).
2 .Bachelor’s degree in human resource management or a related field.
3 .A minimum of 4 years of experience as an HRBP or in a similar role.
4 .Membership with the Zambia Institute of Human Resource Management (ZIHRM).
