TERMS OF REFERENCE FOR LOT 4 INCLUDES:

I)CONSTRUCTION OF 2 MINI ABLUTION BLOCKS MALE & FEMALE AND STAF MINI ABLUTION BLOCK AT CHIBUNGO PRIMARY SCHOOL.

II) CONSTRUCTION OF A GROUP HAND WASH STATION X 1 AT CHIBUNGO PRIMARY SCHOOL

INTRODUCTION

Habitat for Humanity Zambia is a locally registered Non-Governmental Organization founded in 1984 and currently operates in three provinces namely; Lusaka, Central and on the Copperbelt. The organization has been responding mainly to shelter needs and related issues such as water and sanitation to serve the most vulnerable families living in marginalized peri-urban communities within the three provinces.

HFH Zambia through its Improved Access to WASH Services through Community-Driven Models in Ngabwe and Kabwe District, EG8073t Project, is funding the construction of : 2 Ablution blocks male & female and Staf mini ablution block and Group hand wash stations x 1 at Chibungo primary school in Ngabwe district.

DELIVERY APPROACH

Habitat for Humanity Zambia promotes a community driven approach involving the local authority (Council),District Education Board (DEBS), District health office,health post management, schools Management and community members and its leadership from the onset during the planning , implementation,monitoring and completion of installation works. This ensures development of local capacities in quality delivery of the product to the satisfaction of end users and the funding agencies in accordance to the scope of works (see annex 1 below).

Habitat for Humanity Zambia is now inviting bids from interested vendors for the construction: 2 Mini Ablution blocks male & female and Staf mini ablution block and Group hand wash stations x 1 (Chibungo primary school)

This includes; i) Substructure works: Excavations, concrete and blockwork works, soakaway stone installations,septic tank and soakaway construction ii) Superstructure works: slab concrete works,blockwork works,Lintel construction works,steel purlins and roofing sheets installations,electricals,iron Mongery fittings,water supply and Plumbing fittings(toilets,urinals & shower) and Finishes i.e Plastering,floor screed/terrazzo floor,half rough cast and half painting. Note! All ablutions learners and staff shall be serviced by the same septic tank and soakaway.

ELIGIBLE BIDDER

The Bidder is required to posses the following;

-Valid NCC category B or C
-Valid ZPPA Certificate
-Pacra Registration
-Workers’ Compensation
-Valid TPIN
-Campany Profile with physical address
-Valid EIZ /ERB registration Licence
-Valid Tax Clearance certificate
-Provission of brief method statement
-Provison of 3 Months lastest bank statements
-Duration of project & Gant chat showing schedule of works
Personnel,Experience and Equipment
-Registred EIZ Water engineer,civil engineer, or related qualifications with diploma or degree added advantage with atleast 3 years experience for supervision of works.
-Plumber at least 3 years experience
-Proof of carried out past experience in similar works (Certifications of completion,award letters,Purchase orders etc).
-Truck 4×4 able to access muddy roads
– Plate compactor
-Poker vibrator

SITE VISIT

The Bidder is encouraged to visit the site and examine the site and its surroundings and obtain for itself, own risk and responsibility, all information that may be necessary for preparing the bid.The costs of visiting the site shall be at the Bidder’s own expense. DEADLINE FOR BIDS SUBMISSION 

All BIDs must be deposited in a Tender Box at Habitat for Humanity Zambia National Office on Plot 488a Twin Palms Road Kabulonga, Lusaka. The submission should also include a USB Flush Drive containing soft copies of all documents submitted no later than Tuesday, 25th March 2025 by 2:00 PM clearly marked “LOT 4 Tender for the Construction of Two Ablution Blocks and Two Group Hand Wash Stations in Ngabwe District”, and addressed to the Chairperson, Procurement Committee. The Bids will be opened on Tuesday 25th March 2025 at 2:30 PM at Habitat for Humanity Zambia National Office.

SIGNING OF CONTRACT

Promptly upon notification, the Employer shall send the successful Bidder the contract agreement for review and signing.

PROJECT DURATION

The employer expects the project to be completed within 4months of the date of signing the contract.
