I)CONSTRUCTION OF TWO ABLUTION BLOCKS MALE & FEMALE AND STAFF MINI ABLUTION BLOCK AT MUMBA CHALA PRIMARY SCHOOL

II) CONSTRUCTION OF TWO GROUP HAND WASH STATIONS AT MUMBACHALA PRIMARY & SECONDARY SCHOOL.

III) DRILLING & CONSTRUCTION OF A BOREHOLE,EQUIPPING OF A SOLAR SUBMERSSIBLE POWERED SYSTEM,SUPPLY AND INSTALL OF A 10000L TANK,RETICULATION PIPE NETWORK, TWO WATER KIOSKS AND CIVILWORKS IN NGABWE DISTRICT (MUMBACHALA PRIMARY SCHOOL)

INTRODUCTION

Habitat for Humanity Zambia is a locally registered Non-Governmental Organization founded in 1984 and currently operates in three provinces namely; Lusaka, Central and on the Copperbelt. The organization has been responding mainly to shelter needs and related issues such as water and sanitation to serve the most vulnerable families living in marginalized peri-urban communities within the three provinces.

HFH Zambia through its Improved Access to WASH Services through Community-Driven Models in Ngabwe and Kabwe District, EG8073t Project, is funding the construction of : 2 Ablution blocks male & female and Staf mini ablution block, Group hand wash stations x 2 and Drilling & construction of a borehole, equipping of a solar submersible powered system, supply and install of a 10000l tank, reticulation piped network, two water kiosks with 4 water point taps each and civil works in Mumbachala in Ngabwe district.

DELIVERY APPROACH

Habitat for Humanity Zambia promotes a community driven approach involving the local authority (Council),District Education Board (DEBS), schools Management and community members and its leadership from the onset during the planning , implementation, monitoring and completion of installation works. This ensures development of local capacities in quality delivery of the product to the satisfaction of end users and the funding agencies in accordance to the scope of works (see annex 1 below).
Habitat for Humanity Zambia is now inviting bids from vendors for the:

I)CONSTRUCTION OF 2 ABLUTION BLOCKS MALE & FEMALE AND STAF MINI ABLUTION BLOCK AT CHIBUNGO PRIMARY SCHOOL.

II) CONSTRUCTION OF 2 GROUP HAND WASH STATIONS AT MUMBACHALA PRIMARY & SECONDARY SCHOOL.

III) DRILLING & CONSTRUCTION OF A BOREHOLE,EQUIPPING OF A SOLAR SUBMERSSIBLE POWERED SYSTEM,SUPPLY AND INSTALL OF A 10000L TANK RETICULATION PIPED NETWORK,2 WATER KIOSKS WITH 4 WATER POINT TAPS EACH i.e 8 Taps AND CIVILWORKS,NGABWE DISTRICT (MUMBACHALA PRIMARY SCHOOL)

For civil works includes; i) Substructure works: Excavations, concrete and blockwork works, soak away stone installations, septic tank and soak away construction ii) Superstructure works: slab concrete works, blockwork works, Lintel construction works, steel purlins and roofing sheets   Mongery fittings, water supply and Plumbing fittings(toilets, urinals & shower) and Finishes i.e Plastering, floor screed/terrazzo floor, half rough cast and half painting. Note! All ablutions learners and staff shall be serviced by the same septic tank and soak away.
For water scheme includes; i) Drilling and full Casing of borehole ii) supply and install submersible pump and necessary accessories iii) Installation of tank stand and 10,000L Tank iv) Installation of Solar panels and housing v) Construction of civil works -Borehole chamber, bucket rests, Water kiosks, Soak pits and stand tap apron vi) Pipe reticulation and plumbing works and vii) Wire Fencing works

ELIGIBLE BIDDERS

The Bidder is required to posses the following general Eligibility and Compliance

-Cover letter and financial offer
-Valid NCC category B or C
-Valid ZPPA Certificate
-Valid PACRA Registration
-Valid TPIN

-Workers’ Compensation
-Company Profile with physical address
-Valid EIZ /ERB registration License
-WARMA Drillers license class A,B,C,D
-Valid Tax Clearance certificate
-Provision of brief method statement
-Provision of 3 Months latest bank statements
-Duration of project & Gant chat showing schedule of works
-Personnel, Experience and Equipment
-Registered EIZ Water engineer, civil engineer, or related qualifications with diploma or degree added advantage with atleast 3 years experience for supervision of works.
-Plumber with at least 3 years experience
-Electrician with atleast 1 year experience
-Proof of carried out past experience in similar works (Certifications of completion, award letters, Purchase orders etc).
-Truck 4×4 able to access muddy roads
-Rig 4×4 able to access muddy roads
-Plate compactor
-Poker vibrator
-Deep water meter (Hired or owned )

DEADLINE FOR BIDS SUBMISSION

All BIDs must be deposited in a Tender Box at Habitat for Humanity Zambia National Office on Plot 488a Twin Palms Road Kabulonga, Lusaka. The submission should also include a USB Flush Drive containing soft copies of all documents submitted no later than Tuesday, 18th March 2025 by 2:00 PM clearly marked “LOT 5”, and addressed to the Chairperson, Procurement Committee. The Bids will be opened on Tuesday 25th March 2025 at 2:30 PM at Habitat for Humanity Zambia National Office.

The Bidder is encouraged to visit and examine the site and its surroundings and obtain for itself, own risk and responsibility, all information that may be necessary for preparing the bid. The costs of visiting the site shall be at the Bidder’s own expense. Kindly reach out to Procurement@habitatzam.org.zm for a site visit appointment.

SIGNING OF CONTRACT

Promptly upon notification, the Employer shall send the successful Bidder the contract agreement for review and signing.

PROJECT DURATION

The employer expects the project to be completed within 4 months of the date of signing the contract.
