Job Description
Senior Ict Officer-Data Base Administration, Salary Grade Zra05 (1 Position), Business Facilitation, Ict Function

A. PURPOSE
Reporting directly to the ICT Manager – Corporate Systems Support, the position will be responsible for supporting where prescribed, ICT Corporate systems and applications in Zambia Revenue Authority ensuring that their objectives meet business needs cost effectively and efficiently.

B. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Ensuring high availability of ICT services.
2. Evaluating new or modified software in order to guarantee system availability and performance.
3. Maintaining database integrity and security in order to facilitate prompt recovery.
4. Designing, implementing, and maintaining databases to facilitate system backups and recovery.
5. Ensuring data structure and placement are documented for easy reporting.
6. Managing system backups and data restoration for business continuity.
7. Implementing and maintaining databases at the BCP site.
8. Testing and implementing system enhancements.
9. Ensuring minimal downtime and data loss during recoveries.
10. Documenting recovery procedures and system changes.
11. Monitoring and tuning database performance.
12. Maintaining up-to-date systems, procedures, and user manuals.
13. Ensuring data consistency across databases.
14. Documenting system changes and incidents.
15. Implementing data security levels according to ICT security standards.

C. MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
1. Grade Twelve School Certificate/General Certificate of Education Equivalent with five (5) Credits or better;
2. Degree in Computer Science or related field;
3. Minimum of three (3) years relevant post qualifying work experience in the Information and Communication Technology as database administrator using Oracle;
4. Experience in administering Microsoft SQL server 2008 and above; and
5. Must be a valid member of relevant professional body such as ICTAZ.
