Job Description
Senior Ict Officer- Data Center Operations, Salary Grade Zra05 (1 Position), Business Facilitation, Ict Function
A. Purpose
Reporting directly to the ICT Manager – Data Center Operations Systems, the jobholder will be responsible for the provision of timely, cost effective, efficient, and professional ICT Core systems and support services through consultation, agreements and research, with customers and service providers; and developing and implementing ICT strategies, standards and procedures for the purpose of achieving organisation corporate goals.

B. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Ensuring server services availability within Service Level Agreement margins.
2. Maximizing usage of Core Business Systems Server services features.
3. Proper usage of Core Business Server services.
4. Managing payments for server licenses, support contracts, and services.
5. Provisioning, deploying, and configuring Core Business Server systems
6. Managing and monitoring storage systems utilization.
7. Deploying, managing, and monitoring email and collaboration applications
8. Provisioning, configuring, and monitoring Linux-based core servers.
9. Installing and configuring Linux servers on VMware and NetApp platforms.
10. Installing and configuring Corporate Mail and Collaboration servers.
11. Configuring and administering Storage Resources systems.
12. Managing server software and hardware assets.
13. Ensuring adherence to ICT standards for storage and Linux-based servers.
14. Creating and maintaining documentation, procedures, and manuals.
15. Performing routine maintenance of core business server equipment.
16. Performing routine maintenance of storage hardware and SAN-associated hardware.
17. Ensuring availability of OnPrem cloud Servers and email server systems.
18. Researching latest Linux-based server solutions and providing advice to ICT management.

C. MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
1. Grade Twelve School Certificate/General Certificate of Education Equivalent with five (5) Credits or better;
2. Degree in Computer Science or related field;
3. Minimum of three (3) years relevant post qualifying work experience in the Information and Communication Technology profession;
4. Excellent Knowledge of server operating systems such as RedHat Linux, SUSE Linux, Oracle Linux, Microsoft Windows Server, etc.;
5. Excellent Knowledge of Cloud Computing technologies (VMware/vSphere, OpenStack etc), server hardware, Virtualization technologies (Windows HyperVisor, Redhat KVM etc.) SAN and NAS technologies such as NetApp, Oracle Exadata, etc.;
6. Working knowledge of UNIX based Server OS;
7. Excellent Knowledge of Microsoft Exchange Server and Collaborating Technologies; and
8. Must be a valid member of relevant professional body such as ICTAZ.
