Job Description

Lumwana Mining Company is seeking to recruit a highly committed employee for the position of Services Operator to join the versatile Process Team. We are in search of an individual who can champion Barrick’s DNA by:

Reporting to the Services Supervisor, you will be responsible for performing and implementing operational procedures, guidelines, systems and Process services activities to maximize production and minimize costs, while ensuring operational sustainability.

Your duties will include but are not limited to the following:

• Conduct routine operational inspections as per the area inspection sheet and ensure all sheets are filled in with the correct information.
• conduct reagents/grinding media top ups.
• Mobile equipment operations (Front end loaders, Telehandlers, forklifts, tractor loader backhoe)
• Conduct fiend level risk assessment in a work area and report hazard conditions to the supervisor
• Conduct Mill reline preparations, Plant start-ups and shutdowns in preparations for maintenance.
• Conduct housekeeping in the workplace
• Carry out any other related duties which may be assigned by the Supervisor from time to time.

To be considered for the position, you must meet the following requirements:

• Full Grade 12 School Certificate
• Minimum 2 years’ experience in a similar role
• Must be proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word and PowerPoint)
• Must Have a minimum Class B Driver’s License
• Possession of a certificate to Operate any Mobile equipment is an added advantage.
