JOB DETAILS:
A Media Relations Officer works with the group head, media & external relations and group head, marketing and corporate communications to sustain the bank’s relationship with the media; leveraging same to ensure the effective dissemination of information on and from UBA and to positively enhance and grow the brand in line with strategic intent. .

  Job Responsibilities:
• Responsible for the media management of Newspapers and country online media.
• Oversight responsibility Media Relations Officers (where necessary)
• Developing necessary process and policy towards ensuring beneficial relationships, brand enhancement and zero negative press
• Supervisory responsibilities on preparation of press releases, features/articles and other external communication
• Facilitating Advert Placements to obtain optimum exposure
• Managing media events and leveraging opportunities there in.
• Monitoring and reporting via the daily and weekend media review.
• Managing relationships with media personalities i.e. Publishers, Editors, Line Editors and Reporters
• Relationship Management with country media stakeholders

Job Qualifications:
• Candidate must have at least 2 years Working experience spanning Banking Operations, Public Relations/Media and Advertising, Corporate Communications.
• Candidate must possess a BSc in Mass Communication (or Social Sciences and Arts but with Media or Journalism Experience)
• MSc in Media and Communication (Added advantage)
• Additional education qualification – MBA/MSc, a Professional certification in a closely related field is strongly recommended.
• Candidates must have a minimum of 5 credits on their Grade 12 results with Mathematics and English included.
