JOB DETAILS:

WCP Zambia is a Zambian based organisation that works nationally across Zambia, providing support to the Department of National Parks and Wildlife. The main goal of WCP is to coordinate closely with key DNPW personnel and NGOs working in and around Zambia’s National Parks.
Purpose
The primary purpose of this position is to provide help with the organization and running of the fleet department.
Scope of Work
The position includes but not limited to, the following responsibilities:

Responsibilities
• Prevention maintenance: Assist mechanic/s with vehicle maintenance, equipment maintenance, spares procurement, and any other support required.
• Reporting and documenting: Responsible for documenting repairs, maintenance tasks, equipment inventory and reporting any issues or incidents to the fleet manager. Updating monthly mileage records, insurance, vehicle fitness and road taxes.
• Inventory management: Responsible for maintaining accurate records of equipment and supplies, and for ordering parts and supplies as needed and guided by the Fleet Manager
• Cleaning and workshop upkeep: Responsible for the clearing of the workshop area, equipment, and vehicles.
• Driving: Driving as required – procurements and other support needs.
• Vehicle upkeep: Regular checks (oil, water, tyre pressure, licenses, road tax, maintenance schedule, fuel, etc.).
• Safety: Is responsible for following established safety procedures and guidelines, and for ensuring that equipment is safe to operate.
• Quality control: Is responsible for ensuring that repairs and maintenance are performed accurately and to a high standard, and for testing equipment after repairs to ensure it is operating correctly.
• Training and development: Will be trained, guided, and mentored by the Fleet Manager. May be required to attend training and professional development opportunities to acquire new skills and knowledge, and to keep up with advances in technology and equipment.
• Will assist where necessary with all areas of the WCP as required and approved by the WCP CEO.
• Keep all WCP related information confidential.

• Willingness to observe all safety precautions for protections against accidents, dangerous fluids, chemicals
• Technical skills:
• Valid drivers licence and good ability to drive a number of different vehicle types safely.
• Ability to handle various tools and heavy equipment
Required skills:
• High school diploma is preferred; Certification from a vocational school
• Professional, honest, outgoing, personable, able to work in a team and willing to learn
• Wiliness to work long hours, out of standard work hours and on weekends.
