Sales Assistant Job Overview
In the sales assistant role, you will assist customers in making the best choice from the company’s offerings. You are also expected to know each product’s key features to answer customer inquiries and recommend appropriate products. Success in this role will be demonstrated by meeting or exceeding predetermined sales quotas.

Sales Assistant Job Responsibilities and Duties
• Greets customers upon entering the store
• Assists customers in locating specific products
• Answers inquiries
• Directs customers to the manager for decisions out of their hands
• Replenishes product inventory
• Able to deal with purchase orders from the customers
• Assisting in handling cash and credit invoices from the customers
• Cleans the retail store
• Track the sales available and out of stock in collaboration with warehouse/ stores team
• Maintaining health and safety environment in the retail store.
• Assists cashiers in the retail shop
• Assisting in stock taking sales in the retail shop
• Tracks and reports record of sales
• Seeks feedback to improve customer service
• Other duties assigned by retail shop supervisor

Sales Assistant Job Requirements
• A full Grade 12 school certificate with 5 ‘0’ levels credits or G.C.E
• Certificate in Sales and Marketing Management
• Diploma level will be also an advantageous
• Must have at least not less than two years working experience in engineering and manufacturing industry.
• Must have a full paid member of Zambia Institute of Marketing
• At least 18 – 30 years old

Professional Skills and Competencies
• Great interpersonal and communication skills
• Excellent multi-tasking and time-management skills
• Prior working experience as a sales assistant
• Proven sales record
• Excellent mathematical/ accounting skills
• Team player
• Must be physically fit
• Proficiency in computer packages
• Knowledge of using Tally software system is an added advantage
