JOB DETAILS:
The ICT Officer will be responsible for the installation and maintenance of hardware and software in order to ensure smooth operation of computer systems.

Principal Accountabilities:
• Undertake the installation of up to date software and hardware for supporting smooth operations in the university
• Undertake to comply with disaster recovery procedures and maintain standards in line with current technological requirements in order to facilitate quick system recovery
• Carry out periodic research & development activities in software & hardware support in order to provide up to date ICT services.
• Carry out regular maintenance and service of all ICT installations in order to enhance their usage.
• Make timely preparations, presentations implementations of action plans/budgets in order to facilitate the attainment of set objectives & resources mobilization for all ICT related items
• and
• Installation and maintenance of Applications

Qualifications, Experience and Skills:
• Grade 12 School Certificate or its equivalent which should include English language and Mathematics
• A minimum of Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology or equivalent;
• Microsoft/Linux Certification
• Moodle certification will be an added advantage
• Knowledge of Students records systems
• Sound knowledge of SQL databases and Virtualisation technologies
• Programming in Java, C#,PHP or Python Knowledge of Accounting Systems and Human Resource Management systems
• Minimum of two (2) years of work experience in various ICT environments preferably in a higher institution of learning:
• Possess proof of membership to a professional association or organisation;
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
