JOB DETAILS:
SMECH Engineering Services Zambia Limited, a company subcontracted by NAVA Energy Zambia Limited – C/O Maamba Collieries Limited-Maamba, in the Operation and Maintenance (O&M) of a 2×150 MW Thermal Power Plant located in Maamba, Zambia is looking for suitable candidates to recruit in the following positions:

1. BOP Operator X 3
Qualification
• Adv. Craft/Diploma in Mechanical/Electrical Engineering

Experience
• 1-3 years’ experience in balance of plant operations in coal fired power plants

2. Switchyard Operation Supervisor X 2 ( Females are encouraged to apply)
Qualification
• Diploma in Electrical Engineering

Experience
• 1-3 years’ experience in operation of switchyard from and above 132 KV

3. Switchyard/Transmission line Maintenance Supervisor X 1
Qualification
• Diploma/Graduate in Electrical Engineering

Experience
• 1-3 years’ experience in maintenance of switchyard/transmission lines from and above 132 KV

4. Switchgear Operation Supervisor X 3
Qualification
• Diploma in Electrical Engineering

Experience
• 1-3 years’ experience in operation of HT/LT switchgear in power plants and holds MSD issued High Voltage Switching Certificate

5. Switchgear Operation Technician X 3
Qualification
• Craft/Adv. Craft/Diploma in Electrical Engineering

Experience
• 1-3 years’ experience in operation of HT/LT switchgear in power plants and holds MSD issued High Voltage Switching Certificate

6. Jr. C & I Technician X 4 (Females are encouraged to apply)
Qualification
• Craft/Adv. Craft/Diploma in Instrumentation/Electrical

Experience
• 1-3 years’ experience in maintenance of control & instrumentation in coal fired power plant

7. Boiler Field Operation Technician X 5
Qualification
• Craft/Adv. Craft/Diploma in Mechanical Engineering

Experience
• 1-3 years’ experience in operation of CFBC boilers in coal fired power plants

8. Turbine Field Operation Technician X 5
Qualification
• Craft/Adv. Craft/Diploma in Mechanical Engineering

Experience
• 1-3 years’ experience in operation of steam turbines in coal fired power plants

9. Pump House Operator X 1
Qualification
• Craft/Adv. Craft in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering

Experience
• 1-3 years’ experience in operation and maintenance in water treatment and water pumping systems

10. CHP-LHP PLC Operator X 3 (Females are encouraged to apply)
Qualification
• Diploma in Mechanical/Electrical Engineering

Experience
• 1-3 years’ experience in PLC operation of coal and lime handling plants in coal fired power plants

11. CHP Field Operations Supervisor
Qualification
• Diploma in Mechanical/Electrical Engineering

Experience
• 1-3 years’ experience in field operation of coal handling plants in coal fired power plants

12. Chemist X 2 (Females are encouraged to apply)
Qualification
• Diploma in Science Laboratory/Degree in Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.)

Experience
• 1-3 years’ experience in operation of DM plant; analysis of water, coal & ash samples

13. Asst.to Technician-Maintenance X 4
Qualification
• Craft/Adv. Craft in Mechanical

Experience
• 1-3 years’ experience in mechanical maintenance in coal fired power plants

14. Bucket wheel stacker cum reclaimer operator
Qualification
• Craft Heavy Equipment Repair or Grade 12 with heavy equipment operation certificate

Experience
• 1-3 years’ experience in operation of heavy equipment (mobile crane, hydra, etc.) with valid heavy equipment operation certificate
