JOB DETAILS:
District Economic Strengthening Officer Ref No. DE/SD/12/11/21
Reports to Assistant Coordinator – Economic Strengthening with day-to-day supervision by the District DREAMS Coordinator at district level. S/he will provide program implementation and technical support in the implementation of all DREAMS economic strengthening activities in the targeted district.

Main duties
• Manages and coordinates the day-to-day ES livelihood activity implementation in the district at the DREAMS centers through the support staff
• Supports the formation and digitization of Saving Groups at the DREAMS centers and ensure that they are operating according to the Siyakha model
• Using the bottom – up approach, identify the business propositions the AGYW are coming up with and provide technical support for them to be actualized and grow
• Provides technical support to startup businesses being managed by AGYW in DREAMS centers and ensure that they are being managed profitably and sustainably
• Through capacity building, provides coordination, monitoring and support for DREAMS Center staff for implementation of Economic Strengthening trainings for AGYW
• Tracks and provide technical assistance to AGYW, Connectors/Mentors to ensure all ES curricula modules are implemented timely, sufficiently and to acceptable, high standards
• Coordinates implementation activity support to AGYW undergoing mentorship programs provided by consultants or vocational skills training through TEVETA recognized colleges
• Advises DREAMS ES Coordinator and senior leadership on matters of concern and elements of risk regarding DREAMS ES implementation and target achievement
• Tracks work plan activities and deliverables, keeping DREAMS leadership updated on program progress on a daily, weekly, and monthly basis.
• Collaborates with the M&E team on performance results analysis and ensuring that accurate data is captured and entered in the monitoring system using the appropriate prescribed monitoring tools.
• Undertakes periodic data-driven program reviews and troubleshooting, as necessary.
• Prepares weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annual narrative progress reports including success stories.
• Tracks, analyses and manages periodic target achievements, AGYW linkage and opportunities.

Qualifications

• Diploma or better in Business Administration, Development Studies/Administration, Community
• Development, Economics or any related field
• Knowledge and experience in community HIV/AIDS prevention and working with Adolescent Girls and Young Women (AGYW)
• Ability to work independently, take initiative and manage a variety of activities concurrently
• A strong team player with excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work in high profile, fast-paces environment
• Ability to communicate (verbally and in writing) technical issues effectively and persuasively.
• Able to communicate effectively
• Ability to use MS Office (Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint).
