Description
The DEpiCC Clinical Coordinator leads and coordinates service delivery to increase HIV counselling and testing, linkage to treatment and care, and uptake and sustained use of PrEP and other HIV prevention services amongst key and underserved populations in USAID CHEKUP service delivery points.
This is a full-time position. There will be seven positions in total based in Chipata, Chirundu, Lusaka, Kabwe, Kapiri Mposhi, Kasama, and Nakonde. The DEpiCC Manager will supervise the Clinical Coordinator
Responsibilities
• Provide strategic, technical and programmatic support to all clinical related areas for CHEKUP II in the relevant implementation district.
• Through close collaboration with the social mobilisation team, ensures that inherent and generated demand is matched with the needed services including PrEP, STI screening, FP etc.
• Develop/review and adapt evidence-based clinical training materials, performance standards, inter-unit mentorship programme, and supervisory systems needed for program implementation
• In collaboration with the social mobilisation team, scale-up collaboration and capacity building with the Ministry of Health (MOH) counterparts to ensure the sustainability of PrEP services in selected supported sites beyond the life of the project
• Promote the integration of PrEP, STI screening, FP, among others, in non-traditional service delivery points through training and onsite mentorship of appropriate service providing cadres
• Work with the MOH’s Supply Chain unit to ensure consistent availability of PrEP-inclined commodities and supplies
• Work with CHEKUP II’s Strategic Information unit to ensure effective documentation and tracking of PrEP-related and other clinical-inclined indicators
• In collaboration with the DEpiCC manager, foster networking with the PMO, DMO, DACA, the private sector, and key community structures in promoting uptake and access to PrEP and HIV prevention services in the district
• Adhere to JSH’s personnel, financial, operations and fraud management policies.
• Perform other duties as guided by the supervisor consistent with CHEKUP II’s objectives.
Required Qualifications and Skills
• Nurse/Clinical Officer with a degree in a health-related field. Post-graduate qualification in public health (MPH) or equivalent is added advantage
• At least four (4) years experience in health programs implementation; a focus on STI treatment, FP, ART and PrEP programs among key and under-served populations is an advantage;
• In-depth knowledge and understanding of current evidence-base and internationally agreed on global strategies and interventions around PrEP and HIV prevention
• Proven experience in health program planning, management, and coordination
• Demonstrable expertise in capacity building, including facilitation of training and coaching of health care providers through supportive supervision;
• Excellent communication (oral and written), interpersonal and advocacy skills;
• Ability to work in a team and to lead a team
• Experience in quality assurance of PrEP services an advantage;
• Computer literate in Word, Excel and PowerPoint;
• Ability to travel frequently to provide technical support to CHEKUP II sites in urban and rural communities.
