JOB DETAILS:
Ventures Equipment Limited, a Lusaka based Consultancy and Logistics Company is looking to fill a middle management position of Accounts and Operations Manager. The company therefore seeks a skilled Accountant to join the team. As the Accountant, the person will play a crucial role in managing and overseeing all financial and operational activities, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and efficiency in our accounting processes. The required candidate should have the following credentials:
• ACCA 2 or the ZICA equivalent
• Proven experience as an Accountant with 5 years accounting work experience
• Ability to work under in a versatile environment, multi task and meet deadlines
• Possess effective communication skills

Key Responsibilities:
• Set up accounting policies and controls to ensure proper financial management
• Ensure Tax compliance and other statutory requirements
• Conduct periodic financial audits to verify accuracy, identify discrepancies, and rectify errors.
• Prepare and analyze financial statements, budgets, and forecasts to provide valuable insights for strategic decision-making.
• Manage and maintain all financial records, including general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and payroll.
• Oversee month-end and year-end closing procedures, ensuring timely and accurate reporting. Analyze current and past expenses, sales, product deficiencies, and revenues.
• Develop comprehensive knowledge about the business and its development practices
• Manage and optimize the transportation business through the setting up of controls and human resource management
• Prepare monthly Profit and Loss statements
• Able to address any business development and operational assignments assigned
