JOB OVERVIEW
UCSF seeks an Advisor to work on a PEPFAR-supported HIV Recency project in Zambia. The project is being implemented by the Ministry of Health (MOH) in Zambia, in collaboration with the US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, Zambia (CDC-Zambia) and Population Council, The purpose of this project is to provide important surveillance information on new HIV infections with an aim of guiding prevention efforts.
The Advisor will work closely with UCSF Recency Program Managers, the UCSF-Population Council team, MOH, and CDC-Zambia. .
Duties will include:
1) overseeing daily on-site implementation of all project activities including lab and facility engagement, data collection, and oversight of in-country staff;
2) providing technical, administrative, and logistical support including pre-testing and refining of tools, coordinating trainings, data collection, data analysis, study documentation, and ensuring protocol adherence;
3) maintaining constant communication and provide regular updates to Recency Program Managers.

Required Qualifications :
• Bachelor’s degree in related area and / or equivalent experience / training
• Minimum three years of related experience
• Availability to live and be based in Zambia with possible travel to nearby countries
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing
• Analytical / problem-solving skills • Ability to multi-task with demanding timeframes
