JOB DETAILS:
Your Tasks:
The agriculture expert consultant will play a crucial role in establishing school gardens to support the school feeding programme, nutrition, and production unit and ensure the sustainability of the gardens.
Consultancy duration
6 weeks.
Key Responsibilities:
• Conduct a comprehensive assessment of the current state of the school gardens and their production potential.
• Develop detailed plans for each demonstration site, including the layout of agricultural plots, implementation of wildlife-friendly practices, installation of deterrent measures, and construction of educational signage.
• Provide training and capacity-building sessions for schools on sustainable agricultural practices, soil management, pest control, and crop diversification.
• Develop recommendations for the long-term sustainability of the gardens, including soil health management, water conservation, and crop rotation.

Required skills, experience and qualifications
• Extensive knowledge of conservation agriculture methods.
• Basic practical experience working in rural setups with extreme weather conditions.
• Basic practical experience working with schools will be an added advantage.
