Job description:
Job title: Artisan Fitter, Concentrate Pressure Filters
Site: Kansanshi Mining Plc

Position reports to: Senior Supervisor - Mechanical
Grade:

Purpose
To safely execute maintenance work in the material handling area according to the prescribed standards while ensuring the safety of self and others.

Key Responsibilities
This position will be required to adhere to all relevant requirements, policies, procedures and legal regulations pertaining to health, safety, environment and quality, as well as finance, human resources, and any other regulations as required by the company and relevant to the level of the role and responsibilities of the function.
Carry out Preventive and Corrective Maintenance activities in the Material handling and filter plant sections. The Maintenance tasks will include but not limited to:

• Maintaining Outotec/Larox Pressure Filters.
• Maintaining Rexroth Hydraulic Units.
• Maintaining Warman Slurry Pumps.
• Maintaining Schenk and Metso Vibrating Screens.
• Maintaining Slurry and Water Pipe lines and Valves.
• Identifying and implementing Improvements in the Concentrate Filtration System.
• Maintaining Conveyor belts downstream of the pressure filters
• Identifying of equipment defects, troubleshooting and rectification of identified defects

Qualifications
• Minimum of a Grade 12.
• Craft Certificate or equivalent in Mechanical Fitting
• EIZ Certification

Experience
• Minimum 5 years’ experience in of the maintenance of Outotec/Larox Pressure Filters and associated equipment.
• Knowledge of procedures for routine inspection and maintenance of plant equipment
• Knowledge on the hydraulic circuitry of the pressure filters
• Knowledge of the safety requirements when working on the pressure filters
• Knowledge on the auxiliary equipment associated with the pressure filters
• Ability to operate the filter using hand held Unit or HMI Screen for maintenance Purposes.
