JOB DETAILS:
Cochrane Trucking Ltd is a transportation company situated in Lusaka along Great north road. The company is looking for a suitably qualified candidate to fill-in the position of an assistant acountant with the following attributes.

1. JOB DESCRIPTION
– Calculating, recording, inputting or processing financial data
– Preparing customer invoices based on accounting procedures
– Researching and investigating discrepancies in invoices to determine the accuracy of charges
– Matching payments to invoice numbers or sales orders
– Handling customer inquiries regarding billing issues
– Managing an Accounts Receivable ledger and Accounts Receivable files
– Submitting daily reports to management on accounts receivable operations
– Processing credit memos and refunds
– Raising and sending invoices to customers
– Posting payments to customer accounts
– Tracking overdue invoices and following up on them
– To ensure all transactions are properly posted in Sage system (ERP)
– To ensure that all accounts are up to date and properly filed

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
– Full grade 12 certificate
– Degree in Accounting and Finance or equivalent
– Must be a member of ZICA
– Experience in using the SAGE/SAP package
– Able to work with minimum supervision
– Proficient knowledge of excel
– Minimum of 3 years experience in the transport and logistics industry will be an added advantage.
