JOB DETAILS:
Purpose of the role:
To source suitable and reputable suppliers to ensure high quality goods and services are procured for the company on time at the best value in line with company procedures and goals.
Reports to: Senior Buyer

Key Duties and Responsibilities:
The Incumbent will be required to perform but not limited to the following tasks:
• Collaborate with internal teams to understand and assist in specifications of their technical requirements and translate them into procurement specifications.
• Work with User departments in replenishing critical technical stock requirements to the correct specifications.
• Identify and source potential suppliers for technical requirements, evaluate their capabilities, and recommend to the business.
• Conduct market research and analysis to identify cost-effective purchasing opportunities.
• Review and analyze purchase requisitions, ensuring accuracy, full and completeness.
• Prepare and issue purchase orders and contracts, ensuring timely delivery of goods and services.Manage supplier relationships, including monitoring performance, resolving issues, and conducting supplier performance evaluations.
• Collaborate with internal stakeholders to determine procurement needs and specifications.
• Evaluate and select suppliers based on quality, price, delivery, and other relevant factors.
• Monitor and track procurement activities, ensuring compliance with organizational policies and procedures.
• Maintain accurate records of procurement transactions, including purchase orders, contracts, and supplier information.
• Participate in the development and implementation of cost-saving initiatives and continuous improvement efforts.
• Ensure Procurement activities related to projects are planned.
• Resolve all queries quickly and effectively.

Qualifications & Experience
• Grade 12 Certificate.
• Bachelor’s degree in Procurement/Supply Chain Management/CIPS including engineering.
• Minimum 5 years’ experience in procurement in Mining/Factory/Industrial environment.
• Valid driver’s license.
• Member of ZIPS.
• Proven experience in technical procurement, preferably in a similar role or industry
• Strong knowledge of technical products, equipment, and services, and the ability to understand and interpret technical specifications.
• Familiarity with procurement processes, contract negotiation, and supplier management. – Proficiency in using procurement software and tools

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the to build ability and maintain relationships with internal stakeholders and external suppliers.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
• Attention Possess a solid understanding of technical products, equipment, and services relevant to the organization’s industry.
• Supplier Management: Ability to evaluate and select suppliers, negotiate contracts, and manage relationships to ensure quality, cost, and delivery targets are met.
• Analytical skills: Proficiency in analyzing market trends, conducting cost-benefit analysis, and making data-driven decisions.
• Project Management: Ability to plan, organize, and execute procurement projects, ensuring timely delivery of technical goods and services.
• Compliance: Understanding of procurement regulations, policies, and ethical standards, ensuring adherence to legal and organizational requirements
• Communication and Negotiation: Strong interpersonal skills to effectively communicate with teams internal and vendors, negotiate terms, and resolve conflicts. Pay attention to detail and ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
