JOB DETAILS:
Overall Job Purpose:
You will be responsible of maintenance tasks in the construction, maintenance and repair of roads, dams, culverts and other related structures. Follow directions from supervisors and other skilled workers.

Specific Job Responsibilities:
The specific tasks to be performed by the position holder will include;
• Complying to all Safe Working Procedures established by the company.
• Reporting for work fit and well rested.
• Help equipment operators and other skilled labour when necessary.
• Load and unload construction materials.
• General work as assigned by the supervisor.
• Ready to learn from on-the-job training when necessary.
• Perform good housekeeping.
• Operate and care for construction tools, equipment and machines.
• Perform a variety of public works maintenance tasks in the construction, maintenance and repair of roads, dams, culverts and other related structures.
• Maintain HSE standards for self and team; including toolbox talk, planned tasks observation, “Stop, Think and Coach”, hazard identification and reporting etc.

Job Specific Competencies:
• Experience as an assistant operations or better will be an added advantage.
• Ability to comply with all the safe operating procedures and instructions.
• Checking and responding to the condition of all equipment and tools.
• Checking the work environment before and during work.
• Responding to the problems and workload of others.

Experience required to perform in this job:
• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• Ability to do physical and other strenuous physical tasks.
• Ability to work in weather (cold, hot and rainy conditions).
• Experience as an assistant operations or better will be an added advantage.
• Must have the ability to learn the knowledge of heavy equipment, capabilities and uses.

Qualifications:
• Working knowledge of English sufficient to read, write, speak and understand oral and written information.
• Grade 12 Certificate with 5 O’Levels
