Job Description
Lumwana Mining Company seeks to recruit a highly motivated and committed employee for the position of Auto Electrician – Ancillary to join the versatile Maintenance team. We are in search of an individual who can champion Barrick’s DNA by:

Reporting to the Shift – Supervisor, you will assist the Shift – Supervisor in maintaining and improving all automotive electrical KPIs on a day-to-day basis as well as maintaining the operational efficiencies on an hourly and real time basis.
Your duties will include but are not limited to the following:
• Install, maintain, diagnose faults, and repair electrical wiring.
• Diagnose, service and repair faults on electronically controlled vehicle systems such as electronic fuel injection and ignition, cruise control and automatic transmissions.
• Test, replace, and install equipment such as generators, alternators, starter motors and batteries.
• Replace electrical components on Mobile Machinery
• Clean and test components
• Ensure hazardous substances are disposed of appropriately and Health Safety and Environment (HSE) requirements are met.
• Fix problems on instrument panels such as speedometers and fuel and oil gauges
• Repair or replace faulty ignition, electrical wiring, fuses, lamps, and switches and use specialised electrical tools and machines.

To be considered for the position, you must meet the following requirements:
• Full Grade 12 School Certificate.
• Minimum Craft Certificate in Automotive Electrical/Preferably a Diploma in Automotive Electrical
• Minimum three (3) years relevant work experience preferably in a multi-pit mining industry
• Thorough knowledge of Caterpillar, Bell, and Komatsu equipment.
• Minimum two (2) years mining experience in large multi pit operations
• A member of Engineering Institute of Zambia (EIZ)
• Must have a driver’s license.
• Must have good communication skills in the English language.
• Must be familiar with safe working practices.
