Auto Electrician Artisan
Job Description
An Auto electrician duties will include installing and repairing electrical wiring, diagnosing problems with heavy duty and light vehicle electrical systems, repairing damaged electrical parts, and maintaining electrical equipment for agricultural machinery.
He / She should have extensive knowledge of modern and olden electrical systems with proven record of Auto Mechanics or Heavy equipment Repair. Must have a good eye for detail, and be able to problem-solve complex electrical problems. Should be good at testing equipment and the computers they use in mapping out electrical pathways and locating electronic problems or malfunctions in the system. Should be able to disassemble, as well as correctly reassemble vehicle parts back together.
He/She Should able to understand the equipment installed in each unit. Need to make sure the equipment is fully functional and clean, as well as making sure it is connected to the automobile’s main power source.
He/She should use meters and circuit diagrams to search for faulty parts of vehicles. Troubleshooting and repair any electrical system in mobile equipment/vehicle.

Duties and Responsibilities
• Installing new vehicle wiring systems
• Install and repairing of all lighting issues on mobile equipment and light vehicles
• Installing and troubleshooting immobilizer and alarm systems.
• Diagnosing electrical issues and proposing a course of action.
• Carry out PMs on all Mobile equipment and light vehicles
• Providing solutions with estimated time and cost for repairs.
• Repairing and replacing faulty wiring and electrical parts.
• Servicing of electrical automotive parts.
• Servicing and repairing electrical systems on agricultural vehicles.
• Maintaining a clean working environment.
• Completing job reports and processing paperwork.

Requirements And Skills
• Must be above 18 years old
• Must be practically and mechanically oriented
• Must be able to think logically and clearly
• Must have self-discipline
• Must be psychologically and medically fit
• Must possess good vision and be able to identify different colors
• Must be reliable and punctual
• Must be safety conscious, to avoid unnecessary accidents
• Must have business sense and good judgment
• Must care about the quality of work to be done and have customer satisfaction in mind.
• Must be a self-starter with less supervision
• Proven 4years and above work experience as an auto electrician
• Having worked in mining set up is an added advantage
• Should have proven knowledge record of Auto Mechanics /HER
• Ability to work in confined spaces.
• Complex problem-solving skills.
• Ability to operate electrical diagnostic equipment.
• Ability to interpret auto electrical drawings
• Good communication skills.
• Ability to work standing or in a crouched position for long periods.
• Ability to work long hours as work demands

Qualifications
• Grade 12 certificate
• Craft Certificate in Auto electrical from recognized institution
• Holder of Heavy Equipment Repair or Auto Mechanics Repair Certificate is an added advantage
• Have Basic computer skills- Microsoft word, Microsoft excel and Printing
