SUMMARY/RESPONSIBILITIES OF THIS POSITION:
The Business Development Executive will be responsible for managing, promoting and selling food products and livestock feed to new and existing retail customers. He/she will also be responsible for building a new portfolio of wholesale customers. He/she will merchandise, front and sell products against clearly set performance targets in a highly competitive environment and therefore customer management skills are essential. Should be able to apply and develop basic skills in procedures, techniques, tools, materials, and/or equipment appropriate to this area of specialisation.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Provide good customer service
• Supervise the staff at the shops to ensure the premises are kept clean, organised and attractive
• Keep records of daily sales and stocks
• Stock and rotate items as needed
• Reset products and maintains shelf conditions ensuring integrity of shelf tags and signage in the shops
• Check products for out-of-date and damages to ensure freshness and quality
• Ensure that all local government requirements and company regulations and standards for product freshness, safety, refrigeration, and sanitation are met
• Cultivate and maintain existing and new customer relationships
• Use suggestive selling techniques to maximize sales


EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION PREFERRED
• At least 2 years experience in a sales environment of meat products
• Must possess a business degree, a marketing diploma or sales (Substantial proven experience the food retail sector will compensate for absence of academic qualifications)
• Knowledge of perishable and fast moving goods especially in the food industry
• Strong customer service skills
• Cheerful personality
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
• Ability to work in fast paced environment
• Ability to work under pressure
• Must possess a driver’s licence
