Hello…an exciting new opportunity has just become available in our Hollard International, Hollard Health New Business Development area. We are looking to recruit a New Business Development Manager (Permanent). This role is based in Zambia, Lusaka.
• Applicants must be Zambian nationals or have legal status to work in Zambia.
You will support the Global GM of Sales in the execution of the formulated distribution strategies where the result will be actual sales to clients. You will work with the broker/ direct market in Zambia (this could be expanded to other countries in the future) of which the outcome will be the achievement of the sales targets as set out annually.
You will need to become very knowledgeable of the complete line of products/services as well as client issues and needs. To be successful in this role you will need to seek out new sales opportunities in the targeted territory through broker and direct channels to obtain new accounts and build new relationships.
You need to develop and maintain corporate and International (Africa) business relationships through providing exceptional service and advice.
Key Responsibilities
Identify and develop concrete business opportunities by actively networking, maintaining useful contacts and establishing business relationships with prospective brokers/ employer groups in the Zambian market.
Regularly attend broker related events to promote and market the Hollard Health division.
Always have a clear understanding of our products and any changes to same and communicating these to your assigned brokers.
Provide timely and professional customer service to stakeholders.
Regarding market intelligence, maintain a sound knowledge of competitors on the ground in the market.
Prepare presentations, proposals and sales contracts.
Negotiate and close off deals, complaints or objections.
Meet goals with regards to gross written premium.
Works closely with Hollard Zambia to ensure buy-in.
Provide feedback on the sales progress on a regular basis, this could entail, telephonic, written and/or graphs to illustrate the progress.
Assist the GM and Sales Consultants with Adhoc requests.
Required Knowledge And Experience
A minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in financial services.
Thorough knowledge of the English language.
Understand how the broker market operates.
Knowledge of international health insurance plans as well as local Zambian plans would be an advantage.
You get motivated by working with targets.
You are constantly developing commercial, networking, and negotiating skills as well as having the ability to convince brokers and employer groups of the quality of the proposed Hollard Health solutions.
As much as the position is a permanent one based in Zambia servicing the Zambian market, you might occasionally as and when the need arises be asked to assist the GM or a consultant with something specific OR be asked to travel into another country within Africa to assist with a sale.
You enjoy doing presentations.
You are a fast learner with a passion for relationship sales.
You must be self-motivated with a result driven approach.
You will be a member of a small team and as such, will also need to understand the team dynamics and contribute to Hollard Health achieving more than just the sales target (need to be a team player).
Educational Requirements
Matric/ Grade 12.
Minimum of a BCom Degree or similar insurance qualification.
Work Hours: 8
Experience in Months: 60
Level of Education: Bachelor Degree
