JOB DETAILS:
The National Institute for Scientific and Industrial Research (NISIR) is a government institution under the Ministry of Higher Education, established by the Science and Technology Act (No 26) of 1997 through Statutory Instrument No 73 of 1998. after the repeal of the National Council for Scientific Research (NCSR) Act, CAP 236 of the Laws of Zambia
NISIR is looking for a suitably qualified and experienced person to fill in this position at its Headquarters in Lusaka

Business Development Officer X01
Purpose of the Job
To support the Directorate in developing and implementing strategies related to scientific and industrial research communication strategic partnerships, resource mobilization and Monitoring & Evaluation

The Person
The ideal candidate is expected to have the following: be goal-oriented and able to work under minimal supervision and able to collaborate well with a diverse team, have excellent English language oral and written communication skills, be able to write analytical and technical reports, and be Computer literate and knowledgeable of most used packages

Key Responsibilities
• To formulate and implement strategies to market NISIR products, technologies, consultancies and analytical services
• To carry out market research to identify technological product, consultancy and analytical needs of the local industry in order to promote demand driven research and development
• To undertake marketing of NISIR products technological product, consultancy and analytical services in order to enhance income generation and transfer of technologies to the local industry
• To Coordinate programmes/activities aimed at marketing, promoting or publicising NISIR products and services
• To establish good marketing relationship with appropriate public and private organisations in order to obtain cooperation and information for marketing NISIR products/services and also identifying needs of the local industry
• To establish and maintain database of key stakeholders

Education Qualification and Work Experience
• Full form V or Grade 12 certificate
• Holder of Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Natural Sciences or Demography/Statistics or Public Administration or Business Administration or related field(s)
• Must be a member of relevant professional body
• At least one (1) years' experience in a similar position in a reputable organization

Level of Education: Bachelor Degree
