Job Description
Lumwana Mining Company seeks to recruit a highly motivated and committed employee for the position of Carpenter to join the versatile LPDC team. We are in search of individuals who can champion Barrick’s DNA by:

Reporting to the Facilities Maintenance Supervisor, you will be responsible for carrying out preventive maintenance regularly and routinely on building infrastructure to reduce the chances of buildings failure and unplanned breakdowns within the township and across the site.

Your duties & Responsibilities will include but are not limited to the following: –
• Installing wooden structures such as roofing frames, rafters, partitions, joists and stud work.
• Installation of ceiling boards such as Ceiling tiles, ceiling boards etc.
• Designing and installing cabinets, shelving, fitted furniture, drywall and insulation.
• Adding fixtures and fittings such as door handles, locks, hinges and closures.
• General carpentry modifications and repair works on buildings and office furniture.

To be considered for the position, the applicant must have the following;
• Grade 12 certificate
• Valid driver’s license
• Good communication skills
• Minimum 2 years’ experience in mining industry or similar industry
• Computer literate
• Craft Certificate in carpentry & joinery
• Creativity and design skills
• Experience of using hand and power tools such as drills, chisels, sanders, saws and nail guns
• Joinery or cabinet-making skills
