KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
• To assist checking daim forms and other related documents for com- pleteness.
• To carry out Motor Assessments as per management instructions.
• To obtain confirmation of cover details.
• To perform all claims processing duties as requested by the supervisors
• To Ensure that Key Facts statements are completed and signed by Clients.
• To supervise and carry out activities pertaining to processing of insur-ance claims in order to ensure prompt settlement which improve the image of the company and enhance market penetration.
• Inspects risk to verify and determine extent of damage prior to processing of claim
• Approve claim for settlement within given financial authority limits and refers complex cases and those above the limit to supervisors.
• Liaise with Loss Adjustors and/Assessors in order to obtain data and advice for claim settlement.
• Recommend institution of investigations with regard to suspected fraudulent claims.
• Ensure quick recovery and disposal of salvages resulting from settled claims.
• Recommend loss prevention measures and mechanisms in order to improve risk management practices and contribute to profitability of the Company.
• Assist the Claims Department in ensuring effective training, development, discipline and motivation.
• Ensure pursuance of subrogation claims recoveries against negligent parties or therein insurers
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS:
• Marketing Sales or Public Relations Practice
• Knowledge of Customer Service practices
• Microsoft PowerPoint, Word and Excel
• General Insurance
• Insurance Act
• PIA Regulations
QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS
• Full Grade 12 Certificate or equivalent
• Diploma in insurance
• Membership of the Insurance Institute of Zambia
EXPERIENCE
• Minimum 2-3 years’ experience in a reputable Insurance company.
