PMC Zambia is seeking a creative and professional layout designer for a comic book as part of our ongoing initiative, the Comic Book Show. This project aims to raise awareness on key social issues, including early marriages, teenage pregnancies, Sexual and Gender-Based Violence (SGBV), and HIV/AIDS, through engaging and thought-provoking narratives.
Scope of Work: We are looking for a talented and experienced layout designer to create a visually appealing and impactful design for a 24-page comic book. The designer should have the flexibility to work with either color or black-and-white formats.

Key Responsibilities:
– Collaborate with PMC Zambia’s creative team to conceptualize and design the layout of the comic book, ensuring alignment with the organization’s message and themes.
– Design and format all 24 pages of the comic book, integrating text, images, and other graphic elements in a cohesive and engaging manner.
– Adjust and fine-tune designs based on feedback from PMC Zambia’s team to ensure the comic book meets high-quality production standards.
– Provide final design files in formats ready for printing and digital distribution, ensuring adherence to technical specifications.
– Manage project deadlines effectively to meet the agreed-upon production schedule.

Qualifications and Skills:
– Proven experience in graphic design, comic book layout, or similar design projects, with a portfolio showcasing relevant work.
– Proficiency in industry-standard design software (e.g., Adobe InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop) and layout tools.
– Strong understanding of visual storytelling, particularly in comic or graphic novel formats.
– Ability to work with both color and black-and-white designs, tailoring the style to match the project’s needs.
– Attention to detail and the ability to ensure consistency in design elements across all pages.
– Strong communication skills, with the ability to take creative direction and provide professional feedback.
– Access to your own design equipment and tools to complete the work.
Project Duration: This is a project-based contract. The comic book layout is expected to be completed within a mutually agreed-upon timeframe, ensuring time for revisions and final adjustments.
