Our client, ME Elecmetal, the leading supplier of integrated wear solutions for mining, construction and industry, is currently looking to recruit a Comminution Optimization Specialist to be based in Lusaka.
Job description
Comminution Optimization Specialist is a key position within the Africa, Russia/CIS/Mongolia, and Middle East/Europe (ARME) region.
· This position reports to the Regional Managing Director – ARME Region and will be an important part of delivering FIT (Fully Integrated Technology) solutions to our customers.
· This position will represent the ARME region within the Global technical/commercial team.
· This position requires strong technical and application expertise for grinding mills and crushers as well as in-depth understanding of milling and crushing circuits at customer sites.
· The person in this position will collaborate with the ARME region team to offer process optimization solutions and identify opportunities to provide expanded solutions in other parts of the comminution circuit.
· This position will also be called upon as a subject matter expert representing the commercial group and may be called upon to support other regions such as Asia Pacific (APAC).

Responsibilities
· Collaborate with the technical department (Simulation Engineers + R&D Group), Account Managers, Technical Sales, and Grinding Media Application Engineering to successfully create ME-FIT, and VAES projects. This requires expertise in understanding how to present comprehensive solutions using process knowledge, state of the art simulation tools, design and application best practices and know how.
· Visit customer sites on a regular basis and identify new opportunities for ME Elecmetal throughout the comminution circuit.
· Work with the Global technical/commercial team to support ARME region’s offering of the latest and most optimal FIT solutions to our customers.
· Work with the Global technical/commercial team on optimal application of design and alloys based on knowledge and application experience for comminution circuits.
· Provide technical & field support to the account managers and technical sales engineers for field failures.
· Analyze field data, laser scan data and analytical/computational results, to create new designs of mill and crusher liners which improve productivity.
· Support global benchmarking activities.
· Develop new products, resources, services and tools/capabilities as needed.
· Make design optimization recommendations that will meet or exceed customer needs / requirements.
· Develop technical/commercial reports, presentations and other documentation to support the team’s delivery of integral solutions.
Leadership Responsibilities
· Represent the ARME region on the Global technical/commercial team.
· Interface and collaborate with the Global technical/commercial team.
· Work with end customers to optimize their comminution circuits using an integrated solutions approach.
· Identify new revenue generating opportunities for ME Elecmetal throughout the comminution circuit.

Key Skills
· Experience in process engineering.
· Experience in milling and crushing operations.
· Knowledge of JK SIMMET for Mill Circuit optimization is a plus.
· Have excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
· Be able to easily communicate highly technical information to end users as well as management personnel.
· Be proficient verbally, as well as in writing, and be at ease presenting technical information.
· Advanced MS office suite knowledge.

Education
· A BSc degree in Process Engineering, Mining Engineering, Application Engineering, Metallurgical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
