JOB DETAILS:
Job summary
Reports to Communications Manager. The incumbent works closely with all CIDRZ projects to promote and report on their activities on various CIDRZ communication platforms per the communications policy, strategy and guidelines.

Main duties
• Provides visibility of CIDRZ work to key Stakeholders through written success stories, fact sheets, technical briefs, and other communications materials to highlight project successes, challenges, and lessons learned.
• Manages and maintains the website and intranet by employing strategies to increase traffic and making sites the first point of call for information by external and internal stakeholders.
• Creates and maintains critical messages and brand identity, ensuring they integrate throughout CIDRZ’s communications products.
• Focal point person to collaborate with external graphic designers and printers to achieve the desired organisational outcomes.
• Leads the drafting, design, development, production, and management of all CIDRZ social media content
• Monitors and analyses CIDRZ website and social media visitor trends/statistics for feedback and reporting purposes.
• Works out suitable means to present information online, including rewriting or restructuring texts for better legibility or logical sequence.
• Designs and develops print, electronic and social media (Facebook, Linkedin, Twitter, Instagram, Youtube etc.) campaigns presenting finalised ideas and concepts.
• Coordinates communications team’s initiatives in graphic design and is responsible for developing visually effective outreach and communications materials, including developing infographics and formatting key outreach materials.
• Edits and formats technical materials, including promotional materials and technical briefs, ensuring clear and concise language and strong layout and design following CIDRZ and donor branding guidelines.
• Monitors and ensures that all press releases, speeches by CIDRZ, etc, to ensure they are available on the website in real-time or shortly after they are released or delivered through other means.
• Attends internal or external events hosted, supported, or attended by CIDRZ staff to provide media coverage for real-time online dissemination.
• Makes field visits from time to time to capture and document project success stories.
• Oversees the outsourcing process for select digital engagement campaigns; develops and edits videos and public service announcements for social media and multimedia; and maintains a database of local and regional media houses available to assist in soliciting multimedia campaign services.
• Together with the communications team, plans, coordinates, and manages public events from conception to implementation and follow-up in collaboration with all CIDRZ programmes.
• Coordinates media participation at events with manager’s input as necessary. The incumbent will work under the direct supervision of the communications manager. The incumbent resolves most problems or conflicts that arise in consultation with the manager.

Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree in communications, and or Journalism with a minimum of five (5) years of work experience within the public health/NGO field. Master’s degree in communications/Public Health will give an added advantage.
• Knowledge of Coral Draw, Adobe Suite & other design software
• Previous experience in the health sector is an added advantage
• Experience in producing reports and presentations is required.
• Experience using Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Publisher is required; experience with Microsoft Visio is strongly preferred.
• Strong written and oral communication skills.
• Proven problem-solving and decision-making skills.
• Excellent interpersonal and communications skills and demonstrated leadership, versatility, and integrity.
• Fluency in English required
• Registered with the Zambia Institute of Public Relations and Communication (ZIPRC)
