JOB DETAILS:
  Madison Health and Risk Management Limited (MHrm) is looking to fill the position of Company Accountant. The Company is primarily an underwriting Agency of Madison Life Insurance Company Zambia Limited (MLife) responsible for underwriting life and health insurance policies. It also provides administration services for various funds and aims at being innovative while delivering best-in-class customer service experience..

The Company Accountant will be responsible for the following: –
• Preparing periodic management accounts and annual financial statements, including special fund accounts
• Overall supervision of the Accounts department and accounting staff to ensure that:
• Journal entries are timely entered,
• The accounting system is working efficiently and effectively, including the real time capture of primary transactions
• Control accounts are prepared timely and reconciling items followed up where necessary,
• A proper filing system of documents is in place
• All payments are timely made
• Appraisal of financial staff and department staffing
• Point contact for financial matters and liaison with other departments, including expert advice to Management on financial matters
• Budget preparation and budgetary control
• Periodic financial commentary reports
• Ensuring that financial policies are adequate and in place, and ensuring that policy is adhered to
• Statutory compliance
• Handling all audits proficiently and efficiently
• Maintaining report on Health Care Providers Sign offs on Quarterly/monthly basis.
• Reinsurance accounts settlement

  Minimum requirements
• Four (4) years’ post qualifying work experience performing similar duties
• Bachelor of Accounting; Full ACCA; or Full CIMA
