JOB DETAILS:
Major Responsibilities and Duties:
• Review construction plans, drawings, and specifications to understand the scope of the concrete work.
• Set up formwork and ensure it is properly aligned and secured to contain the concrete.
• Place reinforcing steel (rebar) or mesh, if required, to reinforce the concrete.
• Coordinate with other team members to schedule the concrete pour.
• Transport and pour concrete into the prepared forms using concrete mixers, pumps, or buckets.
• Distribute concrete evenly within forms and use shovels, rakes, or vibrators to eliminate air pockets and ensure proper consolidation.
• Smooth and level the surface of the wet concrete using various tools, including trowels, screeds, and bull floats.
• Create desired finishes, such as a smooth, brushed, or textured surface, depending on project specifications.
• Edge and joint the concrete to control cracking and create clean, finished edges.
• Apply curing compounds or cover the concrete with wet burlap, plastic, or curing blankets to prevent premature drying and promote proper curing.
• Protect the concrete from adverse weather conditions, such as rain or extreme heat.
• Inspect the finished concrete surface for defects, cracks, or imperfections.
• Make necessary repairs and adjustments to meet quality standards.
• Ensure that the finished surface meets design specifications and smoothness requirements.
• Clean and maintain tools and equipment after each use.
• Remove formwork and clean the construction area once the concrete has cured.
• Dispose of waste materials in accordance with safety and environmental regulations.
• Adhere to safety protocols and guidelines, including wearing appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE).
• Follow safety practices to minimize the risk of accidents and injuries on the job.
• Collaborate with construction team members, including Concrete Finishers, Formworkers, and Supervisors.
• Communicate effectively to ensure the smooth progression of concrete-related tasks.

Qualifications
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Previous experience in concrete pouring and finishing is beneficial.
• Knowledge of concrete mixing, pouring, and finishing techniques.
• Physical fitness and the ability to perform physically demanding tasks, including lifting and working with concrete materials.
• Familiarity with various concrete tools and equipment.
• Understanding of safety regulations and the ability to work safely at heights and around heavy machinery.
• Attention to detail and a commitment to producing high-quality concrete finishes.
• Effective communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with a team.
• Problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
