JOB DETAILS:
Oversee our service contract for SMART ROCK D45 blasthole drill rigs and related rock drilling tools services at Kansanshi Mine in North Western Province of Zambia. You are will be expected to develop and manage a site based team that will deliver maximum equipment availability and other agreed KPIs while ensuring the highest safety level is maintained at all times. The overall intention is to deliver the maximum value to the customer in terms of supporting them achieve their production targets at minimum cost while delivering sustainable healthy business for Epiroc Zambia.
Duties And Responsibilities
o Responsible for the day to day operations and activities for the contract; attending meetings with Mine management & represent Epiroc’s interest while ensuring mines satisfaction at all times.
o Ensure availability of all machines as per contract KPIs, while supporting the customers’ efforts to maximize utilize/drill metres.
o To closely follow up and report on our contract performance by tracking availability, utilization, MTTR, MTBF, Component life and other key indicators including preparation and timely submission of the relevant reports.
o To present equipment productivity reports in the monthly production review meetings.
o Work closely with Logistics responsible for logistics, spares availability and ensure good inventory management to run the contract.
o Responsible for ensuring correct contract staff compliment at the site.
o Responsible for site staff training and competency development through Performance Management System.
o Formulate and maintain all Risk and Opportunities identified under the Contract in collaboration with the relevant managers and marketing teams;
o Leading your team in the development, implementation and promotion of a proactive safety culture among employees, with the objective of producing positive safety behavior throughout Epiroc.
o Enforce Epiroc policies and guidelines as described in “The Way we do Things”.
o Ensure that all employees in area of responsibility maintain a high ethical standard.
Safety, Health, Environmental And Quality Requirements

o Ensures implementation and maintenance of the SHEQ Management Systems in the department
o You are to maintain the following levels of safe practice in your department:
o Fatal Injuries – 0
o Lost Time Injuries (LTIs) – 0
o Property damage – 0
o Conducts monthly SHEQ meeting
o Ensures the SHEQ representative conducts daily SHEQ talks and monthly SHEQ inspections.
o Ensures own safety and that of others.
o Ensures compliance to legal requirements.
Ensures customer requirements are satisfied/met.

Requirements (Education And Experience)
o Degree in Mechanical/Electrical Engineering or equivalent through experience.
o A result oriented & experienced Management professional with atleast 10 years of experience in handling large Service Agreements and Service Operations within surface mines.
o Good understanding of maintenance practices, workshop and safety standards.
o The candidate should demonstrate past experience in mentoring, coaching and developing local technicians to a high level of competence.
o Hands on technical knowledge in advanced hydraulics, electrics and drill rig operation would be an advantage.

Key Knowledge, Attributes, Skills And Abilities
o Energetic, focused and able to enforce high level of work standards, ethics and discipline required in a mine site based service contract.
o A person who enjoys leading a multi-cultural team and fostering an open collaborative culture Strong Electrical and Mechanical knowledge of equipment will be an added advantage.
o Technical knowledge of Atlas Copco DML blasthole drills and related rock drilling tools would be a distinct advantage.
