Job Description
Lumwana Mining Company is seeking to recruit highly committed employees for the position of Coordinator – Community Welfare & Sports to join the versatile LPDC Team.
Reporting to Superintendent – Planning & Operations, your duties will include but not limited to the following:
• Implementing the Company’s social commitments, including community development projects, local stakeholder engagement, and coordination with the LPDC Social Community and resettlement programs.
• Providing strategic input and operational management of LPDC Community Development activities with a focus on non-mitigation programs. Core non-mitigation development programs are community health, education, economic, sports development and infrastructure.
• Supervision of the two local Community schools and enhancement of the social wellbeing of the community.
• Offer Community Development and Social Welfare Programmes which ensure all residents of the Lumwana township enjoy the best possible standard of living which supports LMC’s attraction and retention of staff.
• Provide advice and guidance to management on analysis of welfare programmes offered by Lumwana in the township
• Provide regular sectional reports to enable effective management of the key performance activities.
• Develop, implement, and maintain safe work procedures and promote high safety and health awareness. Promote and comply with the LMC Occupational Health & Safety Policy.
• Ensure appropriate facilities, procedures, and workforce competence to achieve legal compliance, incident prevention and the achievement of tasks in an environmentally sustainable manner.
• Become actively involved in Barrick’s aims and objectives of engaging with the local community and strive to leave a positive impact on the longer-term outcomes for local people. Promote the integration between this engagement and the success of the business.

To be considered for this position, you must meet the following requirements:
• Minimum Diploma in Social Sciences, business administration/economics, community relations/community development, or related sustainable development field.
• Sound understanding and experience of the principles psychosocial counselling
• Proficient in Microsoft office suite application.
• Must have excellent written and oral communication skills in English and show a commitment to understand Zambian culture and its impact on mining operations.
• Experience in managing costs and budgeting.
• Confident communicator with senior management, legal entities, and external stakeholders
• Holder of a valid Zambian driver’s
