JOB DETAILS:
Lumwana Mining Company seeks to recruit a highly motivated and committed employee for the position of a Coordinator Ultra class Trucks to join the versatile Maintenance team.
Reporting to the Superintendent Ultra class trucks, you will be responsible for Improving the reliability and availability of the mobile maintenance team by building, assessing and continuously improving the equipment availability. Identify, develop, and implement improvement initiatives to increase efficiency and effectiveness of mobile maintenance and operations processes. Your duties will include but are not limited to the following:
• Ensure personnel are adequately inducted in their work area and are aware of all workplace rules and critical procedures applying at LMC.
• Actively contribute to site safety policy and new initiatives and implement change as directed by the General Manager and management team.
• Actively promote, monitor, and enforce compliance of personnel with safe work practices.
• Ensure all incidents are reported and investigated according to Company policy and statutory requirements and all recommended corrective actions are completed.
• Ensure appropriate facilities, procedures, and workforce competence to achieve legal compliance, incident prevention and the achievement of tasks in an environmentally sustainable manner.
• Develop and maintain a team structure that adheres to Barrick’s Organisational Framework policy, enables teamwork and personal development while focusing on the achievement of results.
• Ensure training and coaching is provided to all employees, with specific attention to National and Local employees as part of the Company’s Training and Localisation Plan.
• Ensure all members of the team have clearly defined accountabilities and roles and that individual development plans are in place to enable goals to be achieved.
• Ensure all members of the team receive feedback on their performance and participate in formal performance review processes.
• Develop a succession plan for direct report roles.
• Assist in implementation and management of Barrick’s programme for graduate professionals.
• Assist the Management – in a support role with regards the management of planned maintenance and scheduling of services.
• Work with the coordinator and supervisor to achieve production and cost targets in conjunction with the daily, weekly, and monthly mining plans that correspond with the annual production target.
• Cascade plan and objectives through the team to ensure all activities are focused on agreed outcomes and reflected in the short-term mine plans.
• Develop and manage systems to enable the achievement of the LMC targets.

To be considered for the position, you must meet the following requirements:
• Full Grade 12 School Certificate.
• Diploma/Degree in Mechanical Engineering.
• Certified applicable Trade qualification.
• Significant experience (8 years) in Heavy Earthmoving Equipment maintenance.
• Experience in large multi pit operations utilising large scale mining equipment.
• Able to clearly demonstrate the aptitude to drive light vehicle hold a current Zambian driver’s licence/be able to obtain one.
• Be physically fit and be able to pass a pre-employment medical examination.
• Must have excellent written and oral communication skills in English.
• Competent in incident/accident investigation
• Proven ability to deliver results and act as a change agent.
• Experience in managing costs and budgeting.
• Good computer skills with the ability to use integrated management systems.
• Ability to communicate effectively across all levels.
