The Deutsche Gesellschaft fur Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) GmbH is a federally owned international cooperation enterprise for sustainable development with worldwide operations. GIZ has worked in Rwanda for over 30 years. The primary objectives between the Government of Rwanda and the Federal Republic of Germany are poverty reduction and promotion of sustainable development. To achieve these objectives, GIZ Rwanda is active in the sectors of Decentralization and Good Governance, Economic Development and Employment Promotion, Energy and ICT.
The program “Promotion of Economy and Employment" (EcoEmploi) is part of the priority area “Sustainable Economic Development" of the Rwandan-German Development Cooperation. With the objective, that ‘selected public and private actors have implemented employment-generating measures’ and therewith contributing significantly to job generation in Rwanda, the program is based on an integrated approach of Private Sector Development, TVET/Skills Development and Labour Market interventions in the selected economic sectors ICT, Wood, Tourism, E-Commerce and Creative Industries.
GIZ is currently preparing a collaboration with a private company in order to establish a joint Driver Training Academy in Kigali, Rwanda. The objective of the Academy is to train women and men in order to become professional drivers, thus improving their employment opportunities. The training contents include driving and mechanics skills, ICT skills, English skills, knowledge of the city of Kigali and others. As part of the Academy, 50 women and people with disabilities will receive their driving license and will be trained to become professional drivers.
The project is a joint effort of the Strategic Partnership Digital Africa, a network of German development cooperation and more than 150 European companies, and GlZ’s EcoEmploi programme in Rwanda.
GIZ Rwanda is searching for a candidate for the position of Coordinator for a Driving
Training Academy for Promotion of Economy and Employment programme" (EcoEmploi).
The Coordinator will be based in Kigali Eco-emploi office.
Responsibilities
The Coordinator is responsible for:
Setting up, implementing and scaling the Driver Training Academy, in close consultation with GlZ’s stakeholders in Rwanda and Germany as well as with the private sector partner
The Coordinator performs the following tasks:

Required qualifications, competencies and experience
Qualifications
Masters Degree in Education, Business Administration or in other field related to the task
Professional experience
Minimum of 5 years of relevant professional experience in training in Rwanda (such as Technical and Vocational Training or other types of formal training).
